Business Services Accountant
This team does our ‘inside’ the business work, including VAT, bookkeeping, payroll and management accounts.
Accountant – Business Services
£25,850 – £32,250 – Hybrid (50% of hours in the office) – Chipping Sodbury, Bristol
We are looking for a trainee/qualified accountant for our Business Services team.
This role is ideal for someone with a few year experience and enjoys client contact. The services provided by the team are:
- Bookkeeping
- VAT returns
- Payroll and pension
- CIS returns
- Management Accounts
- Basic company secretary filings
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing accounts and returns through Xero and FreeAgent
- Ensuring the internal deadlines and tasks are met for your portfolio
- Liaising directly with clients
What we are looking for:
- Minimum of 2 year practice experience
- Confidence drafting VAT returns and general bookkeeping
- Ability to manage workflow, prioritisation and capacity
- Team working
- For more senior roles, experience with management accounts
You will not be suitable if:
- You have not had any client contact
- You have no practice experience
- You are not AAT qualified or do not intent to be AAT qualified
Our client base
- Limited Companies (up to £5m turnover)
- Sole traders, including submitting Making Tax Digital returns
- No hospitality or agriculture
Working pattern
- Hybrid: 50% of time in the office
- Chipping Sodbury BS37 6JL
- Must live within a 45-min commute
- Valid UK driving license
Year-End Accountant
Our year-end team supports clients with annual compliance, including statutory accounts, corporation tax and self-assessment.
Accountant – Year End

We are looking for a trainee/apprentice accountant for our Year End team.
This role is ideal for someone with a few year experience and enjoys client contact. The services provided by the team are:
- Company Accounts – FRS 105 & 102(1A)
- Company CT600
- Partnership Accounts
- Sole-trader Accounts
- Self Assessments
- Confirmation Statements
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and filing annual accounts and returns
- Ensuring the internal deadlines and tasks are met for your portfolio
- Liaising directly with clients
What we are looking for:
- Minimum of 2 year practice experience
- Confidence drafting sole trader and micro accounts
- Ability to manage workflow, prioritisation and capacity
- Team working
- For more senior roles, experience with FRS 102(1A)
You will not be suitable if:
- You have not had any client contact
- You have no practice experience
- You are not AAT qualified or do not intent to be AAT qualified
